PFI New Zealand

The Pagan Federation New Zealand is part of the "International" branch of the Pagan Federation, whose Head Office is in London. The PF International has members in Europe, Canada, the USA, South America and Australia.

The PFI NZ intends to provide a service to seekers and practitioners of the various pagan traditions. Our intention will be that people can access reputable information, network and find groups and services related to Paganism in New Zealand through this organization.

We plan to sponsor and support existing community activities. These may include public workshops or seminars provided by experienced Pagans or events such as the Talking Stick "PubMoot". A Pub Moot is a gathering, usually in a tavern, where Pagans of different paths get together and chat. The atmosphere is informal, which makes the Moots a great way for those who are new to Paganism (or just curious) to get to learn what Paganism is all about. These moots often feature a guest speaker from one of the pagan, Magical and esoteric paths.

It is our intention that in future, members of the PFI New Zealand will also be invited to members-only days out or Pagan Picnics or get-togethers, and be informed of local activities that may be of interest to Pagans: for example museum exhibits, Open Rituals, new Pagan books & Pagan websites. There is also the opportunity to discuss and learn more about paganism through the web-based "PFI Forum".

The National Coordinators for New Zealand are Cian and Cealleigh.

Cian has had a strong interest in Paganism for over 20 years and is an initiate of both the Gardnerian and Alexandrian traditions of Wicca, as well as a Western Mystery Tradition order that draws on the Arthurian and Grail mythos. He also has a strong interest in Druidic wisdom and Shamanism - having visited sacred sites of power in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and attended rituals and empowerments in both the Peruvian Andes and Indonesia.

Cealleigh has been interested in paganism, Celtic and Arthurian mythology, and Earth-Based spirituality since a young age. Her formal involvement started with attending open rituals run by a women's spirituality group. She has since been initiated into both the Gardnerian and Alexandrian traditions of Wicca. She has particular interests in folk-based witchcraft, Celtic Shamanism, and Natural Magic.
